December is full of dates with conflicts, busy schedules, tight wallets, and expensive holiday venues. Know how to plan a successful event with these 5 reasons of why you should book your holiday party after the holidays.
- Save Money – just like a wedding, the less likely a venue is to have business on a particular day or weekend, the easier it is to negotiate prices. Conference centers, hotels, and more offer more bang for your buck during slow-business such as January.
- Your Guests Will ‘Thank You’ – between personal holiday gatherings, family plans, travel, shopping and more, there’s only so many days in December. Your guests will appreciate you pushing the holiday event to January when everyone’s schedules seem to be at a lull.
- Create a Theme Out of It - many people get creative with their post-holiday party. Themes like “Twelfth Night Party,” similar to the 12 days of Christmas, but held on the 12th night after Christmas or “Beat The Post Holiday Blues” make for the most common themes. Brainstorm a theme your guests will run with and love.
- Clearance Aisle – shopping for centerpieces or other decor? Starting December 26th holiday decor prices will be slashed – save money and spend it on something more memorable such as food or entertainment.
- More Variety – when you book after the holidays, you have more choices! In January, you can choose from more caterers who are available, more venues options, and the best band in town is less likely to be as booked. Don’t hold your holiday party back from it’s full potential if you can host the event you were dreaming of after the holidays.
The holidays are already hectic – you can take some of the chaos out of December by hosting your event in January. Tips from event planners at West Belmont Place.
