Hello friends! I wanted to introduce myself and share my excitement about joining the NCC team. I’m Jordan Waddell and the new Account Executive for The National Conference Center. I am a graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Marketing and Spanish…Go Dukes! Before coming to NCC, I spent nine months living and working in Qingdao, China. Living in China was a fantastic adventure. While in China I was a teacher. I taught everything from ABCs to advanced conversation. Teaching in China was a really eye opening experience for me. Not only did I learn a lot about myself, but I learned a lot about communication and its role in relating to others. Trust me if you can teach a classroom full of hostile middle school kids, then a board room presentation suddenly seems less intimidating. On a more personal note, one of the biggest highlights of my trip was climbing the Great Wall; surprisingly it isn’t flat on the top, so it was quite the hike!
At NCC, my responsibilities will include booking and planning meetings for under 50 guest rooms. I’m most excited about the position because I get to have my hands in a little bit of everything; event planning, sales, catering, housing and reservations – you name it, I’ll be gaining experience in every department. Most of all, I love the challenge of selling and planning because it really keeps me on my toes. I’m currently adjusting to this beautiful, unique campus and I love it already. So far, I’m enjoying the people at NCC. Everyone is so helpful and welcoming which makes this place all the more exciting. I can definitely see why a lot of our employees have been here for 20+ years!
Outside of work I love to read books, go skiing, dance and travel.
